Over the years I've come to believe that Necky makes some of the best hard shell touring Kayaks on the planet. Thus I was really excited that Alaska Outdoor Rental & Guides would have the opportunity to introduce these great Sea Kayaks to Fairbanks this summer.

 is a foldable canoe that has an interlocking framework of tubular aluminum stays and ribs held together with spring-loaded shock-cords. The design makes the canoe easy and quick to assemble. There is a closed cell foam pad located between the framework and the reinforced PVC-skin that provides flotation, and thus added safety. The canoe 's flexibility allows it to smoothly ride over waves, thus makings encounters with underwater rocks a much less harrowing experience than that of hard shell canoes. The reinforced skin is sewn and welded to achieve extra strength. The anatomic seats can be moved forward or aft to adjust the trim of the canoe.
The most requested model by serious Alaskan Paddler's is the Ally 811 , which is 16.5 feet long, weights 38 lbs and has carrying capacity of 800 pounds (380 kg) and sells for $1795.

PakCanoe
The PakCanoe represents a new generation in folding boat design that draws on over 20 years experience from trips all over the world.
The PakCanoe was designed with the goal of making a canoe that would be superior in safety, performance, convenience, and esthetics.
PakCanoe hulls are formed by a reinforced PVC skin held under tension by an interlocking framework of tubular aluminum. Seat positions adjust to trim the canoe. Because the PakCanoe hull is flexible you stay drier. Its flexibility allows it to ride over waves rather than crash into them and take in water. The canoe will absorb severe impact and usually slide over or by rocks with no damage where fiberglass, kevlar, or aluminum canoes crack or get hung up. In this respect, the PakCanoe behaves much like ABS boats weighing 20 - 30 lbs more.
Disassembled the PakCanoe stores in a 35"x17"x13" bag, small enough to fit in a small plane for transport to the most remote rivers.
