There are three distinctly different sections that form this Loop.
Farmers Loop Section (8.5 mile) is on a designated multi use path with some moderate inclines. This section of the Loop is on a paved dedicated bike path that crosses many driveways and has several roads, which require some caution. This portion of the Loop follows Farmers Loop Road, which is a paved highway that travels through the suburban outskirts of town, and provides an opportunity to experience Interior Alaska suburbia.
Steese/Johansen Expressway Section (2.75 miles) is a designated paved flat, multi use path that is totally isolated from the main road.
College Road (3.25 miles) Section is designated as Sidewalk Bike Path. There is only one intersection, but many driveways crossings (with bike friendly curbs). The section of the loop passes by the Creamer Field Migratory Bird Refuge.
